Our journey

Our knowledge was built through every change

Since 1971 the customs framework has changed fundamentally, many times. Our firm was working through every one of those changes.

  1. 1971

    The firm is founded

    Apostolos Angelopoulos founds the customs brokerage in Athens, which starts operating with a team of more than 10 specialised professionals.

  2. 1981

    Greece joins the EEC

    With accession to the European Economic Community, the national tariff gradually gives way to the Community’s common customs tariff.

  3. 1993

    The single market

    Customs formalities at the Community’s internal borders are abolished. The customs broker’s work now centres on trade with non-EU countries.

  4. 2013

    Electronic customs: ICISnet

    On 03/12/2013 Greece’s ICISnet system goes fully live. Customs declarations are now filed electronically.

  5. 2016

    Union Customs Code

    From 01/05/2016 the Union Customs Code applies, aiming for fully electronic, paperless customs.

  6. 2022

    The customs representative

    Law 4955/2022 recognises the customs broker as a customs representative, under a new framework for direct and indirect representation.

  7. 2025

    ICS2 across all transport modes

    Pre-arrival safety and security data is now required for road and rail transport too.

  8. 2026

    CBAM and customs reform

    From 01/01/2026 the definitive CBAM regime applies to imports such as steel, aluminium and cement. The reform of the Union Customs Code is also adopted.
